Q. How do I care for my blue grass lawn in Fall/Winter?
A. Continue watering until grass goes dormant and stops growing. Continue mowing until grass stops growing. Fertilize early Fall and late Fall, approximately mid-August and early-October using a fertilizer low in nitrogen, such as Fertilome Winterizer. Water as needed in winter if mother natures doesnt provide.

Q. Is fall the time to plant bulbs?
A. Fall is the time to plant tulips, daffodils, crocus and many other bulbs available at the garden center now. Add bone meal or a low nitrogen fertilizer to encourage blooming in Spring.

A. Fertilizing trees and shrubs should stop by early to mid August on established plants. New planting can still have some root stimulator applied at planting. Roses and perennials shouldnt get any fertilizer after the end of August.
